Darren Fisher

Darren Fisher defines what it means to be community-oriented, coming from a long line of entrepreneurs and civic participation. The Fisher family has called Dartmouth-Cole Harbour home for generations; operating businesses, volunteering and being actively involved in their community. Darren and his family are Canadian through and through – in the winter you can find them at the rink, and in the summer swimming in Lake Banook. Darren is an advocate and ambassador for EPIC!

EPIC was the dream of Owner and Race Director, Tim Chesnutt.

Tim and his wife Stacy (Race Director, Sole Sisters Women’s Race Series) wanted to create a venue for long distance triathletes right here in Nova Scotia, after seeing talented local athletes need to travel the world to compete. The idea began as a one-time training day for local athletes preparing for the Mont-Tremblant, Quebec triathlon – but after mapping courses and talking with local athletes, the interest of making this event a full race grew. “Creating a venue, where we can celebrate our own athletes at home, I think is a reward in and of itself, and part of me just thinks it’s cool. These events are cool.” Before Tim knew it, he was adding more and more to the event, and now, 5 years’ later (thanks to his ambitious goals and love of Dartmouth) we have the EPIC Canadian for runners, EPIC Kids, our EPIC Try-a-Tri and our EPIC Swim.
